The Minister for Housing, Urban Renewal and Developing Areas, Mr. Michael Finneran, T.D., launched the updated and revised version of the NABCo Co-operative Housing Handbook for affiliated housing co-operatives on the 3rd December 2008.
The launch took place in the Oak Room of the Mansion House, Dublin, in the presence of The Lord Mayor, Councillor Eibhlin Byrne, other public representatives, housing co-operative committee members and officers, officials and representatives of other co-operative organisations, departments, local authorities and agencies.
The new Handbook adopted by the management committee of the National Association of Building Co-operatives, representing affiliated co-operative housing societies, revises and updates the information, policies and procedures for the conduct of the Association’s representative, promotion and development roles and related business affairs, as the national federation serving the Co-operative Housing Movement in Ireland.
The Handbook also includes a comprehensive series of good practice policy guidelines and procedures for the proper governance of affiliated co-operative housing societies and for the delivery of quality housing management, caretaking repair and maintenance services.
