The Association’s strategies for implementation of its mission are concerned with:-
Representation and co-ordination of the common interests and concerns of affiliated housing
co-operatives,
Promotion of the distinct contribution which well organised co-operative housing societies can make to the provision and management of housing, estates and apartment buildings,
Development of co-operative housing as a good accommodation option for people who are willing to accept the responsibilities of membership, at a cost and in a form of tenure suited to their needs and financial circumstances,
Partnerships with local authorities and other agencies in the public, community and private sectors, to expand the contribution of co-operative housing,
Services to support the successful organisation and good performance of housing co-operatives, including
- information, advice and training,
- guidance about legal, corporate and financial duties,
- leadership and management skills,
- facilitating co-operation between co-operatives for mutual support and shared services,
Building Better Communities ~ socially, economically and environmentally ~ with sustainable housing options and choices, which facilitate the participation of member/user/residents in
- the upkeep and care of their housing estates and apartment buildings,
- organisation of self-help neighbourhood projects and social services.
